About Bill Polits

Bill Polits is a composer, vocalist, guitarist, and recording artist exploring harmonic resonance, overtone chanting, and contemplative music. With a master's degree in composition from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, his musical background spans classical, jazz, rock, percussion, and experimental sound.

His 1998 album Red Earth combines overtone chanting, wind harp, and magnetically bowed guitar. He followed it with Enchant (2003). Recent recording sessions at the TANK in Rangely, Colorado, continue his lifelong exploration of sound and reverberant space.

Bill also leads Chant4Life, an educational program bringing overtone chanting, community singing, and contemplative practices together to cultivate awareness, self-discovery, and human connection.
